'Portrait of a Top Boy' launch and exhibition

By now, you have either watched it all, reached the halfway point, or are attempting to dodge the spoilers all over social media, but there's no escaping the hype and excitement surrounding the season finale of Top Boy. After an exceptionally gripping five seasons (yes, we include the seasons from Channel 4), the beloved London-based series has come to a conclusion.

To mark the launch of the season's last dance, Top Boy premiered alongside the exhibition "Portrait of a Top Boy" at Somerset House's Embankment Galleries. Of course, Sweet Dee's Jerk had the honour of catering for this grand occasion, hosted by Netflix and the creative production agency, Studio Dream.

This season of Top Boy continues to revolve around Dushane (Ashley Walters) and Sully (Kane 'Kano' Robinson), while also shining a spotlight on the supporting cast, notably fan-favorite Jaq (Jasmine Jobson), who proves to be as adept at hustling as she is at expressing concerns about the community. Not to mention the mild-mannered girl next door, the ride-or-die Shelley (Little Simz).

Our Sweet Dee's Jerk team provided high-quality Caribbean dishes in bite-sized portions to ensure everyone was well-fed before the screening. Later, we served a second round of party food to prepare the attendees for a performance by the UK Hip Hop icon himself, Giggs, as well as our "next to blow" pick, Cristale.

Sweet Dee's would like to express our gratitude to all those who made this occasion special and allowed us to showcase our exceptional food, catering skills, and genuine support for Black British art and culture. Make sure to catch the final season of Top Boy on Netflix, as we have.

If you have an event that could benefit from our catering service, please reach out, and we'll be delighted to bring the perfect blend of reimagined Caribbean cuisine while still paying homage to our cultural roots.
